Waterfront City in Dubai

This 1.5 billion ft2 development in the United Arab Emirates designed by Rem Koolhaas has the density of Manhatten on the man-made island. The Metropolitan Architecture scheme divides the island into 25 generic blocks with startling mix-use buildings inside. One 82-story tower spirals into the sky as a 44-story "death star" sphere sits beside it.
