Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Petronas were the tallest building in the world until Taipei 101, César Pelli also designed the world's deepest foundation. The iconic skybridge is also the tallest connecting bridge between buildings.

The 88-floor super high-strength reinforced concrete design is based on Malaysian Islamic architecture with lighting enhancing the dazzling effect from repetition of floors. The cross-section is based on the Rub el Hizb. It sits next to the notable Asy-Syakirin mosque.

A concrete core and exoskeleton of columns opens up to 2000 m2 of structure-free office space. Malaysia's national oil company, Petronas, completed the buildings in 1998.
