This project by Bekkering Adams contains three sewage pumps for the city of Amsterdam, Netherlands. The natural site with plenty of space around it helps dissipate the noise, as well as the concrete skin. The roof takes on the same elevation treatment as the four sides, creating a crystal object. The walls dent to facilitate the functions inside. Graphics and decorative concrete treatment imply structure and let people know exactly what it is: a booster pump station. It was completed in 2005.
