Osler House, Brasilia Brazil

Marcio Kogan, who did the Cury House project, designed the Osler House in 2006 and it was constructed in 2008. Various elements of the modern city come together in this residence: front tiles by Athos Bulcão, concrete, wide sweeping windows, wood panels, and intermingling strips of pool and garden.

Stacked strips of building allow good cross-ventilation and views. A small bare staircase leads to an upper story glass box. The living room and kitchen inside are barely separated. The pool runs underneath, through the garden, and turns into a wood deck. This is a great update of a classic 60's modernist design.
