Rooftecture S, Kobe Hyogo

Rooftecture S (completed in 2005) is a house on a very difficult site in Kobe Japan. The triangular lot is 20m and up to 4m wide. The problem of slope is greatest in the roof. Endo creates "states of liberation and closure" by wrapping much of the house in the metal roof.

Light enters the ends and through the sides at strategic locations. The residence has great views of the coast from up on the slope, .
