The stacked stones reference a native Taiwanese aboriginal custom. Three theaters and an administrative space assume blob-like shapes as they are stacked vertically. These blobs contort to accommodate views, to give structural stability, and to open up the pedestrian plaza at ground level.
This competition entry by Fancois Blanciak is a clever pop-art spin on vernacular construction.
