Feichtinger Architectes designed the Passerelle Simone de Beauvoir pedestrian bridge across the Seine River in Paris. It spans 106m using a "pectinate lenticular" steel truss system, and was completed in 2006. Five paths intertwine on rotational supports, rising and falling softly. This path continues the axis established by The Bibliotheque Nationale de France, with the Parc de Bercy and Bibliothèque Simone-de-Beauvoir. It's an impressive work of art, but the €21m cost seems rather excessive.
